Consultation: Relationships and Health Education Policy for schools of the Aspire Educational Trust

As you may already be aware, Relationship and Health Education (RHE) is a crucial element of the curriculum that equips our children with essential knowledge, understanding, and skills to develop positive relationships, foster respect, and make informed decisions about their own well-being. The Department for Education has recently updated the statutory guidance for Relationships, Sex and Health Education, emphasising its importance and encouraging schools to adapt their policies accordingly to be in place by September 2026.

At the Aspire Educational Trust, we are committed to providing a comprehensive RHE program that is age-appropriate, inclusive, and respects the diverse backgrounds and beliefs of our students and their families. We believe that fostering open and honest discussions about relationships, consent, personal boundaries, and reproductive health is vital in promoting the well-being and safety of our pupils.

To ensure that our RHE curriculum reflects the values and needs of our school community, we are launching a consultation process to gather your feedback and suggestions. We value your input and believe it is essential to involve parents/carers in shaping the RHE provision at our school.

The consultation process will consist of the following steps:

1. Consultation Document: This document is available to you via the website of each of our schools.

2. Feedback Submission: We invite you to provide your feedback, suggestions, or questions regarding our proposed RHE policy and curriculum. You can submit your feedback via email to        consultation@aet.cheshire.sch.uk

The deadline for feedback submission is Friday 10th July 2026.

Once we have collated all the feedback, we will carefully review and consider your comments and the final RHE policy and curriculum will be shared with you.

We are committed to ensuring that every child receives an education that is both informative and respectful of their individual needs. Your participation in this consultation process will help us achieve this goal and ensure that our RHE provision is tailored to the specific requirements of our school community. Thank you for your ongoing support. Should you have any immediate questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s class teacher.

We welcome your views on this proposal.
